"Wrangel Island; Map of Wrangel Island. The shaded parts are sand spits only a little above sea level; The British Admiralty chart as it was immediately after Captain Kellett's discoveries were recorded on it, except that the dotted outline of Wrangel Island, in its proper position, has been printed over the 'Mountains seen in Herald' as originally mapped. The 'mountains laid down by Wrangel' are taken from Baron Wrangel's own map, and so is his sledge route of 1823."--Caption from item. #339 + 340
